Abaca fiber (Musa textilis nee), Areca Nut Dyes (Areca catechu L.), and clay.
Braided and basket weaving
This concept is inspired by the contour silhouette of one of nature's appearances, namely "the wave". The wave is a sandstone formation that gives the appearance of a unique shape resulting from natural processes involving natural elements.
The uniqueness of these contours inspires them to replicate and process their shapes into structures from abaca fiber, areca nut dyes, and modelling clay. The use of clay is intended to provide a statement of form that is made in a modular manner and is the base for making layers of abaca fiber through basket weaving techniques.
